A welcome surprise to new parents

Everyone has heard of people paying for the person’s order behind them at Starbucks or in a fast food drive-thru, but one California couple is really stepping up to help new parents in a surprising way.
Krystal Duhaney and her husband, Patrick, have given away $1,000 by secretly stuffing $20 bills into essential baby items, like formula and diapers.
“We recalled how hard it was for us as new parents to afford some of the basics and we could imagine how difficult it must be during this pandemic,” Krystal told TODAY.
Back in 1989, I had a 2-year-old daughter and another under 1. My business was struggling to take off and money was very tight. I distinctly remember standing in a grocery store with $10 in my hand and needing diapers and formula. I could not afford to buy both.
So, I picked up a small box of diapers for the toddler and a half-gallon of whole milk for the infant. I don’t know how I would have reacted to find money in the box of diapers when I got home.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if people would also leave notes of encouragement, like “You’re doing a great job with the baby,” or “Parenting is super hard, but you’re up to the challenge!”
What a way to make a new parent’s day! That’s what being an #ImpactChristian is all about.
