Lifeway Research revealed a startling statistic this week that 22% of all evangelical Christians now reject the Bible’s teaching on gender, especially the idea that God only created people to be either male or female. They believe in the idea of “gender fluidity.”

Nearly a quarter of evangelicals believe that gender is a choice. In fact, the study showed that nearly half of people who do not consider themselves to be evangelical also believe in the worldly concept that a person’s gender is based entirely on how he or she feels that day.

This does not surprise me.

Christians have looked the other way as our public schools have indoctrinated children for years to reject biblical truth.

I fully suspect the reason self-professing evangelicals embrace the idea of gender fluidity is so high is likely because the respondent has a child, grandchild or friend who rejected his or her own sexuality. It appears to be easier for people in those situations to ignore biblical truth so as not to appear “hateful” and “intolerant.”
